Jun 04, 2011 · After some recommendations by OCZ staff on their forums, this is the guide I follow to get Windows on my Vertex 3 SSD. It was written by me, based on these staff recommendations. Ridiculous, I know, especially because "any old way" worked with my previous Vertex 2E SSD and any HDD I've ever had. What makes the Vertex 3 such a cranky *****!?

Apr 27, 2012 · I have a Vertex 3 myself so have an active interest in this after reading Bryce's post. Looking at their support Forum, if it fails to detect after a hard reset, it would appear to be bricked. I would contact OCZ about a warranteed replacement.

Jun 14, 2011 · There are rumours around that SandForce are impending a full recall on all SF-2281 based SSDs, which includes the Corsair Force 3, OCZ Agility 3, OCZ Vertex 3, etc. I'm supposed to receive my OCZ Vertex 3 RMA replacement this week but I'm now thinking of just creating another support ticket for a full refund.

OCZ has released new firmware,version 2.09,for the Vertex 3,Vertex 3 MAX IOPS,Agility 3 and Solid 3 series. Version 2.37-206 1. Use OCZ Toolbox v2.37 to determine the version of firmware currently installed on your SSD. 2. If the SSD contains firmware version 2.06 or higher (v2.06, v2.08, v2.08), simply upgrade the firmware version to 2.09 using OCZ Toolbox v2.37.

Apr 27, 2012 · I have a Vertex 3 myself so have an active interest in this after reading Bryce's post. Looking at their support Forum, if it fails to detect after a hard reset, it would appear to be bricked. I would contact OCZ about a warranteed replacement.

I remember there were firmware updates to fix these issues but it doesn't look like they're available anymore.

Jul 16, 2011 · I'm using the Marvell 9128 in my system. Vertex Series-3 240gb. I'm seeing 270mb a/s write, 454mb a/s read and 234mb a/s random r/w. I get 270/270/255 when connected to my INTEL SATAII controller. However, like many in the OCZ forums I'll be running up for 4 days and then POW, BSOD. Whether connected to INTEL or Marvell.

Oct 03, 2011 · I did not find the benchmark results for the OCZ vertex 3 60 GB.. but i did read somewhere that it might be slower.. and if i compare the speeds for the ocz vertex 3 120 gb with the results of ocz official specs on the box they are a bit lower, minus 15 mb/s for the read speeds and minus 20 mb/s for the write speeds.

Jul 05, 2013 · OCZ drives are far more reliable from the Vertex 3 onwards and drives like the Vector and the Vertex 4.50 have been tested very thoroughly before release, OCZ have learned a few lessons over the years. If you have to buy OCZ buy the models built by OCZ with OCZ boards.
