Mar 03, 2010 · As far as garbledness goes, the nouveau 3D driver is in the EXTREMELY ALPHA NON-WORKING HARD-LOCK-CAUSING MAY-BURN-DOWN-YOUR-HOUSE state of development. They don't want bug reports since they'd probably end up with more bug reports than lines of code.

nouveau_vieux (NV04 - NV20) nouveau_vieux_dri.so is a classic Mesa DRI driver, and not a Gallium3D driver, because these cards do not have enough shader capabilities to reasonably support the Gallium3D infrastructure. Do not file bug reports about this driver.
