Apr 29, 2013 · Your video card is not supported and therefore will not work. They answered the "why" on their official forum tech support thread. Something about a feature needed, cant remember. Found it, here is their response - "This is why the minimum required for Mars is an ATI RADEON HD 4830."

What is your graphics card? INTZ is a depth buffer texture format. It should be supported on GeForce 8+, Radeon HD 4xxx+, Intel G45+.

D3D9 did not support rendering to ABGR formats, but theoretically it was available as a format that could be sampled. However, it was not in common use, and looking through my current driver's caps, it's not supported. Best to stick to ARGB, which has universal (although, not actually guaranteed) support.

Aug 09, 2017 · Fixed a client crash at startup on players with GPUs that do not support INTZ depth texture format. Fixed a crash with The Aspirant's Plaza. Fair enough - as I say, I run the standalone through steam. Do bear in mind though, that GGG are on record as admitting not all their changes necessarily go into the patch notes :) #6.
