I shut it off. I turn it back on. Then I get the message "No detailed maps found that support routing..." After some googling I learn to touch and hold the screen and then I get "can't unlock maps." I google some more and learn I need to register the nuvi and get an unlock code. I have no usb cable so I call Garmin. Hold forever.

If you are receiving the message “No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing”, and it cannot be dismissed by pressing OK or back, press and hold your finger on the message to clear it. Problem 4: Failed to find the map on the device when we search for the desired location.Our desired maps are not found and show a message that no detailed map found that supports routing.

I hit the dots as requested, it re-calibrated, then this screen popped up: “NO DETAILED MAPS FOUND THAT SUPPORT ROUTING. THE NUVI CANNOT BE USED WITHOUT THEM.” I shut it off, turned it on, unpluged it, plugged it back in many times.
