The Catalyst 6500 supports two port-channel control protocols, the proprietary Port Aggregation Protocol (PAgP) and the IEEE standard Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). By contrast the Cisco Nexus only supports the standards based LACP.

Mar 08, 2011 · We have purchased couple nexus 7k and 5k's and planing on getting 2k's. can anyone tell me why would i want to use the nexus versus the current 65xx's that we have the only thing that i found is the VPC's which is cool but not sure how well it works during an outage. anyone here knows or works with HW and can help me out?
