For anyone still trying to get an old Netgear WG311 v1 PCI card working with Windows 7 and WPA - there is another solution in addition to patters98's approach on the French Netgear forum (Google translate is your friend). I have Windows 7 32 bit - but I imagine this would work with 64 bit as well.
