Steps To obtain a license key for a new copy of the Data ONTAP DSM for Windows MPIO (MPIO-WIN key), go to the NetApp Support Protocol License page. In the Show Me All field, select DSM-MPIO-WIN, and then click Go. Record the appropriate license key.

Yes. If your controller was delivered with Data ONTAP 8.2 or 8.3 enabled, it is likely that the NetApp Support site only displays Data ONTAP 8.2 or 8.3 license keys for that controller. Therefore, new Data ONTAP 8.1 license keys will be required to downgrade. You can request the new license keys form your Sales or Support representative.

Issue the sysconfig command to verify the system serial number and use the license key for that system only. You can verify the correct license keys for that serial number on the NetApp Support Site under My Support > Software Licenses. If you continue to have problems, contact technical support.
