Feb 21, 2010 · NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code is very good at saving in the Microsoft .doc format so the most practical way to convert .odt to .docx would be to save as .doc format in NeoOffice. Then open the .doc file in Word 2008 and save as .docx.
