Distributed network, about 600 PCs, just upgraded to IE8. Currently the 'Enable Native XMLHTTP Support' option is disabled (perhaps this is an artifact of the upgrade from IE7) but its causing a few very specific problems with certain jquery widgets etc.

Users using Etherpad with Internet Explorer 7+ may have an issue where they cannot load a pad as it seems to get stuck on "Loading". Aug 14, 2017 · The code you are using should work fine in IE7 to determine that the "Enable Native XMLHTTP Support" option is checked. You can set the IE's document mode to check this issue. It seems that the window.XMLHttpRequest is always working on IE 8 and IE8+ no matter that the Enable Native XMLHTTP Support" option is checked or not.
