Oct 10, 2013 · I tested it with an snmpwalk and it works just fine but when i tried the nagios plugins on a linux server with only snmp v3, it won't be able to get any information. It must have something to do with the plugins or the commands. I am not experienced enough though and can't seem to find much on the subject of snmp v3 nagios.

May 25, 2018 · There's an issue that's been noticed on using the latest version - ver. 3 of SNMP for server health checks such as ping, CPU utilization etc. For instance, 'snmpwalk' command with older versions of SNMP i.e. 1 and 2c works well and gives the desired output that tells if Nagios is able to reach the destination host or not using SNMP.
