MythTV has HDTV support for broadcast and Cable HD, but lacks a means of decrypting these streams. In fact, PCs in general do at this point, but I suspect that will change. Vista MCE will undoubtedly have encrypted HDTV playback support, Tivo as well (if it doesn't already).

MythTV should also support the new DVB-T2 HD standard in Germany. DVB-T2 is not the same like DVB-T2 HD. DVB-T2 uses H.264 and is already used in some countries like UK, Northern Ireland, Italy, Finland, Sweden etc. DVB-T2 HD uses H.265 and will start 2016 in Germany.

Dec 22, 2018 · Been waiting for something to push me to Mythtv v29. Plus, I always wanted to get away from external devices like my 1212 HD-PVR and their wall wart power supplies. Just bought my Colossus 2 and a PCIE 1x riser adapter.
