@ericramos1990 As I noted above, there is native support for most MTP implementations build into mint 15 and above. If you are still having trouble with it I suggest you open a thread on the forums so that more knowledgeable people can help you debug it.

Aug 20, 2013 · After good amount of searching found the below package and now am able to connect to my Sony Ericsson phone and transfer files using Dolphin. Interestingly, Amarok also seem to play well with the device on MTP support.

Oct 16, 2015 · If the problem is only with newer versions of *buntu derived distros, perhaps try a Long Term Support (LTS) version of one of the *buntu's instead. - 14.04 is the current LTS release. Or perhaps try Debian. I'm currently using Kubuntu 14.04LTS. Connection to devices via MTP doesn't seem to be a problem at all for me.
