Support Faq - PPTP Client

    http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-diagnosis.phtml
Diagnosis: either the kernel has no MPPE support, or this version of pppd is incompatible with the MPPE kernel module version you used. The most likely cause is using PPP 2.4.2 or later on a kernel that has an MPPE module built for PPP-MPPE 2.4.0 or 2.4.1. For a bit more history on this, see also Why are the pppd options different?

OpenWrt Project: PPTP Configuration

The desired configuration would have automatic detection and population, so there is no need to edit host files. I tried following instructions for setting up samba to run as a WINS server but I couldn't get it to work. Perhaps this is because OpenWrt is running an older version of samba that was selected because it has a smaller memory footprint.

Dec 07, 2006 · I have pptpd running on my Wl-500gx with OpenWrt Kamikaze 2.4 kernel. I think pptpd is enough, but you need the following kernel modules loaded to support MPPE encyption: ppp_mppe_mppc, sha1, arc4 You can set the IP range for clients in /etc/pptpd.conf e.g. remoteip 192.168.0.201-204
