Dec 15, 2012 · When I run a simulation with SecureIP ModelSim, I receive the following error/warning. Why? "# ** Error: <veilog file>(# line number): in protected region" Solution. This is a reporting issue in ModelSim. The problem is not from the protected/secure IP, but it is from the design.

Hello, I am going through the 4FM_Get_Started_Guide_WinXP.pdf I am at section 2.5 for Modelsim - bullet 1. This directs modifying the modelsim.ini file to update 6 different paths to help configure modelsim. I have Modelsim SE-64 10.2a (Rev 2013.03) installed along with ISE 14.4. My problem is that I do not have the paths mentioned in this bullet point on my file system.
