May 22, 2018 · I have been hearing rumors that Microsoft is going to stop sending out security updates for Windows 8.1. I know that mainstream support for both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have come to a close. However, according to the Microsoft OS life cycle chart Windows 7 is supported through the beginning of 2020.
