Jul 23, 2009 · I got a bug report this morning that using ProfileLaunch Profile Wizard in MFCMAPI returned MAPI_E_NO_SUPPORT in Outlook 2010. Further investigation showed it also failed on Outlook 2007. A quick debug revealed that the function had been rewritten before we shipped Outlook 2007, so that it always returns MAPI_E_NO_SUPPORT.

I have to support an old C++ program (I am not its author) that uses Extended MAPI to scan mail folders from Outlook 2007. Suddenly the software began meeting problems on one customer's computer by the following scenario: call of OpenMsgStore fails for some folders with code 0x80040102 (MAPI_E_NO_SUPPORT ). for other folders it fails with code 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED).

MAPI was missing and mailto, although checked, did not work. The DOCUframe support team figured out that one can open the former (Windows 7 style menu) by opening cmd.exe (with user privileges) and entering control /name Microsoft.DefaultPrograms /page pageDefaultProgram.
