Mar 07, 2014 · you can't cluster the MD1000, the MD1000 has no logic built into it, so i can't support clustering, it is just a disk enclosure. See also the post from lawrence. But what you can do is connect it as an ISCSI target from a other server that way you can use the storage in this cluster.

According to Dell tech support, it is possible, it's just a question if the OS has the multipath software for the active-passive 'cluster' type situation that you mentioned. The MD1000 has 2 controllers. I'm just not sure if XenServer supports this configuration with this hardware.
