I am trying to add a C-Class blade Brocade 4/12 switch in access gateway mode to my existing McData DS-24M2 switches. The Bracade shows that the ports on the McData have NPIV disabled. When I try to enable NPIV on the McData is says i need a key. What is it looking for? Where can i get the key?

Our McData switches have NPIV enabled, the VMs have attached SAN storage that is represented as RDM , FC NPIV enabled with a WWN. My question is how do I use the WWNs that VMware created? I do not see them present on the McData switches, once they are present on the switch, can I add storage to it like a normal server?

Jun 01, 2014 · The blade chassis utilizes NPIV. It works as expected on the McData but when we run a new cable from the chassis to the DCX the HBA appears to login to the fabric (port speed gets negotiated to N4Gbs) and switchshow sows the physical HBA WWPN logged into the port but portshow shows nothing logged in.
