The door header over the main bulkhead which directly supports the mast was then heavily built up with fiberglass, particularly around the doorpost, which also acts as a mast support post. With the header built up, the damaged bulkhead was itself laid up with several layers of fiberglass to stiffen it and bond it to the deckhead.
