Aug 01, 2011 · Marvell 9182 & TRIM Raja is correct, currently the Marvell Controller does not support the windows TRIM command. At least not yet. That doesn't really matter, especially if you are going to RAID0 your SSD's, then TRIM doens't work anyway.

Hi Guys, So the question is in the title really I have a Rampage III Black Edition. What I am trying to find out is if the Marvell 9182 controller has TRIM support or not ? I have searched the net but been unable to find an answer. Cheers

Nov 10, 2013 · If you use the built-in Windows generic Microsoft ACHI driver for the 9182 which Windows installs by default, TRIM is supported. But if you update that driver with one from the hardware manufacturer, TRIM is not supported.

Sep 30, 2011 · TRIM support is not dependent on the actual hardware chip, but rather on the software drivers. Previously Microsoft AHCI/IDE driver was the only driver supporting TRIM, after that Intel and AMD followed. Marvell drivers would be a logical next candidate, but I've not seen any authoritative claims about it having gained TRIM support yet.
