Mar 24, 2015 · This lens support seems like a very good idea if you have a Manfrotto tripod head, and if weight and bulk are not issues. This head definitely will not work with ArcaSwiss. Also, it is big and bulky. A friend recommended a simple 150mm ArcaSwiss QR plate instead. That works beautifully to balance the camera-lens complex on the tripod head.3.6/5(54)

Dec 20, 2011 · an alternative solution along the lines of the Manfrotto 393 Heavy lens support; I have no experience of my own with either system, but I have seen a friend use the 393. It seemed to work fine and it's considerably cheaper than most gimbals. Just wondering what you are using and if you'd care to share your opinions.
