Mailchimp for Magento does not support product retargeting at this time. Version 1.1.1 of Mailchimp for Magento supports Mandrill for Magento. To use this feature, install or update to version 1.1.1 or later.

The MageMonkey extension is no longer needed. There are 2 exceptions to these recommendations: if you are on the Magento 2 platform, or if you use a multi-storefront Magento installation. Those are not yet supported by MailChimp for Magento, so you’ll need to stick with MageMonkey + Mandrill for now.Author: DJ Henley

It isn’t clear how long the extension will work and when Mailchimp will decommssion API used by MageMonkey. Mailchimp promotes their new Magento extension for a while, but turning off MageMonkey support with less than 2 weeks notice is a bit harsh in my opinion.
