i would say xbox 360 controller is a must to get the feel of the car, driving slow and just enjoy the engine sounds. Its not a driving simulator so i dont know how a wheel would be since i do much of the driving slipping and sliding.

Mafia 1? I use a controller for driving (no need for a keymapper) and the keyboard/mouse for on foot. Better aiming with the mouse. As for controls, you just set it up in the controls menu.

Sorry for being THAT GUY but CONTROLLER SUPPORT? i use ds4forwindows so i have pretty much a xbox controller but half the buttons seem to not have an operation and i cannot remap the keys in settings for the controller.
