Add madden to steam. Enable ps4 and xbox controller support (check them in big pic mode settings) Be sure origin is closed. Run madden from steam big pic mode origin starts at that point. When the game loads in the ds4 should be a xbox pad . I have been using this method for 2 days now with no issue running windows 10

Hmm, double check and make sure it's actually detecting as a Xbox One controller in the game input devices menu. Sometimes the software can be a bit quirky, I don't have any DS4's handy to test but I have issues intermittently with my DS3's where i'll have to reconnect them, I ran into this problem occasionally with FIFA on PC.
