Feb 26, 2019 · Vital communications were maintained with a Forward Air Control fixed-wing aircraft. Such airplanes coordinated for close air support for immediate extraction if a team was compromised, or upon completion of the mission. A mission lasted from three-to-five days. SOG was all-volunteer, and personnel could leave without prejudice.

I believe most of my Facebook friends know that I served in Viet Nam with the 5th Special Forces Group B-56 Project SIGMA MACV-SOG. I also think most know that after Viet Nam, I was a police officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department, and I was assigned to the Air Support Unit as a pilot.
