Feb 12, 2008 · So, I hear through the vine that the CPU of the MBP (current gen) has a frontside bus of 800MHz, but only came with RAM at 667MHz. I am in the market to upgrade to 4GB of RAM in my MBP. Will I get a little bit more of a speed bump moving to the DDR2-800 RAM?

Sep 18, 2012 · The new Macbook pro is Ivy Bridge/22nm IC process node--same as DDR3L. So I'm guessing that means the 2012 Macbook pro provides a 1.35V power supply for the memory which would imply 1.5V (regular DDR3) will actually *not* work--or at least not reliably.
