Apr 30, 2009 · I was getting confused that the 5400 chipset itself could support SLI ie. the skulltrail motherboard which actually has 2 nforce chipsets on there as well. The 5400 chipset does NOT support SLI. The X58 is the only intel made chipset other than nforce that supports SLI. So in short, no the mac pro cannot support SLI with 2 separate cards.

Feb 10, 2008 · It's common for for Apple to use the best intel motherboard and XEON processors available in the Mac Pro. And there is the fact that they have never been able to support SLI until now. If it's a question of people using it, there are plenty of threads concerning Apple and SLI at Apples own forums along with every other forum on the internet.

Sep 25, 2017 · Hi Guys, just to update you on the subject of this thread. I just installed a second MSI GTX 980 GPU into my system yesterday and as we know MacOS does not support SLI, however to answer your 2nd question, it is true I am able to run Windows 10 using the SLI config and I can actually run Sierra MacOS 10.12.4.

Feb 06, 2008 · From what I have heard the current Mac Pro can support either 2 x 8800GT's or 2 x 3870's as far as the energy requirements go, however, within Leopard its not going to do either Crossfire or SLI, but will function as two individual graphic cards, note the 3870 is not officially supported in OSX, however under windows it is very likely that the two 3870's would support corssfire I believe due ...

Jun 14, 2009 · No driver support = no SLI. But, and Im not 100%, I believe that the 3870 was crossfire compatible in windows. Now Crossfire and SLI work a bit differently, and I dont think that mac versions of NV cards are the SLI versions (if there is such a distinction), but it might be possible with a small selection of ATI/AMD cards.

Does it support SLI or Crossfire? Video cards require specific drivers and firmware to work with the Mac Pro models, so "standard" PC video cards are not supported. For Mac users who may not yet be familiar with the terms "SLI" and "Crossfire" from the Windows world, "SLI" stands for "Scalable Link Interface" and NVIDIA defines the technology as:

I'm running SLI with two GTX1070's for gaming on my windows side. I make a living producing videos on the Mac side. When ever I'm in OSX i have issues with programs like quickbooks and Chrome glitching out unless I unplug one of my GPUs.

Jun 14, 2009 · Page 1 of 2 - SLI on a Mac - posted in Mac Hardware: I'm having a bit of a debate with someone about this, and I can't find solid information. This someone claims that ANY video card can be inserted into a Mac Pro because it possesses PCI-E slots (which is already a mistake). I know that there is the possibility of using any card IN WINDOWS . . .

BUT the 7950x2 should work well with internal Sli support and forceware drivers in XP ONLY! II) Crossfire: (for Windows XP only! - won´t work in OSX) I´ve read a whole bunch of internet pages to find out wheather crossfire may work under bootcamp with windows xp and a Mac Pro or not. Most people say no, no support, no drivers, no go.

I apologize if this is a repost, but I'm wondering if NVIDIA has announced anything in regards to ray tracing support for RTX cards in SLI? I have 2 MSI Gaming X Trio 2080 Ti's and the NVLink Bridge, but I haven't bothered installing the 2nd card yet, because last I heard dx12 isn't supported by SLI yet.

So the latest release of Nvidia's drivers added support for Kingdom Come: Deliverance but no support for SLI. I was under the impression that SLI was supposed to be added for this game; is this not coming at launch? Any chance a developer could confirm whether SLI will be supported at launch or at a …

Aug 27, 2006 · Got my Mac Pro with 2x NVidia 7300 cards today. Used the PCI Express bandwidth config app in OS X to set slots 1 and 2 to 8x mode then I tested SLI in WinXP using the modified ForceWare 85.96 drivers (modified to work on any chipset).

Aug 09, 2006 · Well, no SLI drivers for OSX, and it would have to also have a supporting chipset to even make it worth while. Nvidia is supposibly considering giving SLI support to Intel chipsets for PC (mac pro is also intel chip based), so someday SLI might be a possiblity for a mac, but not any time in the near future, or even on the release of the mac pro. I doubt even a firmware upgrade would support it.
