Feb 24, 2013 · smallest live cd to support ext4? So, i have a bunch of files i need on a ata hardrive from a dead computer. What is the smallest livecd i can download that will recognize the ext4 filesystem? I just need it to be able to boot to a shell, mount the drives and copy between them. I was going to try dsl as it's only 50mb, but i guess it's dead now ...

Does it matter if you have an "old" version of tune2fs (I'd do it from a live CD - Puppy 5.4 Dec 2012 - but I guess fsck doesn't update that often)?
