Apr 06, 2015 · A simple newbie question. I'm contemplating installing Linux Mint on to an old Dell 8600 laptop which has a "non-pae" CPU. I have seen the instructions on the Mint 17 Qiana-release notes home page about adding "force pae" to the boot arguments.
