Now our Netware support guys have asked the question that I am not sure of the answer. They want to know, if we use DFS on Windows 2008 will the Linux clients be able to see all the DFS folders using a CIFS client?

Apr 08, 2019 · Which version of FreeNAS are you using? That looks like 9.10. Which distro/version of Linux is in use? In both FN 11.1-U7 and FN11.2-U3, the min server protocol defaults to vers=2.0 which is SMB2_02 and an up to date linux client cifs mount should auto-negotiate the highest version, unless you specify it as mount parameter.

I've got a Windows DFS setup with a few namespaces, and I need a way of accessing them via CentOS. Any ideas? I've had a look at CIFS mounting, but it won't support the namespace (each separate server that hosts the content is fine, but that defeats the point of having the namespace in the first place).
