Jan 30, 2018 · In general, Lightroom runs fine with dual or quad core CPUs, probably faster with the quad core, but you know this depends on a bunch other things, such as the size in megapixels of the original photos (do not tell me megabytes) and the speed of the CPUs, and what kinds of editing you are doing (lots of brushing? lots of spot healing?).

May 12, 2015 · With hundreds of CPU models available, it can be a daunting task to determine which CPU will give you the best performance in Lightroom. In this article we will be examining the multi-threading capabilities of Lightroom CC and Lightroom 6 to determine whether a CPU with a high frequency or a CPU with a high core count will give you the best possible performance.CPU: 2x Intel Xeon E5-2687W V3 3.1GHz Ten Core

Dec 10, 2018 · While all the AMD Threadripper CPUs performed well in Lightroom Classic, they were all about 10% slower overall than the Intel Core i9 9900X which was the top performer. Another thing to point out is that the Core i9 9900K does very well for its price as it is quite a bit less expensive than any of the Intel X-series CPUs.

A performance photography PC requires a processor able to handle the multitude of Photoshop actions and effects quickly and efficiently. Photoshop can efficiently utilise multiple processor cores, but efficiency drops off after two cores, with the four-core processor only being around 25% faster than the two-core at the same clock speed.

Feb 01, 2015 · Lightroom doesn't seems to fully utilizing the CPU/memory. For example on export on my quad-core CPU, utilization often drops to 40-60%. It seems like the writing of the resulting files needs to be done asynchronously with reading/writing files This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Full resource utilization.

Id REALLY like LR to utilize dual or quad core processors… I recently upgraded from 3.6 to 5.0, and I must say: performace-wize, LR5 was a major letdown. 3.6 was actually notably faster than 5.0. I am using a quad-core setup OCed to 3.5 ghz, 10KRPM HDD and 8 GB ram, and editing in LR on this setup is a major pain in the ass.Author: Pye Jirsa

Photoshop needs to support multi-cores to do processing for everything, and if it can do, to make GPU participate in whatever images and video exporting. If GPU can calculate everything like multi-cores CPU, that's the best way than CPU! ... That's means even the last Photoshop CC still process with 1 core of CPU whatever you got how many cores ...

Jun 08, 2015 · I'm not a LightRoom user, so I don't have any first hand experience, but there's always Google. Just looking at the topic of 'LightRoom MultiCore' brings up a lot of discussions with people claiming they aren't gaining a whole lot from anything more than quad cores with Lightroom, especially Mac users, and those results aren't symetrical improvements from dual core.

Feb 02, 2018 · Do any of you know whether quad core is an advantage over dual core when it comes to editing photographs in Lightroom and Photoshop? I'm debating MacBook pro 13" (dual) vs 15" (quad) and really, I'd rather have the smaller one. The issue is whether the quad core …
