Hydra on Windows comes up with “[ERROR] Compiled without LIBSSH v0.4.x support, module is not available” ... [ERROR] Compiled without LIBSSH v0.4.x support, module is not available! I downloaded LIBSSH from libssh.org and installed it to no avail. The internet seems to hold no answers however I can see others have asked the same question.
This is a security release to especially address CVE-2019-14889 but also to harden the source code.. This security update is the result of a sponsored security audit of libssh by the the Mozilla Open Source Support program (MOSS). A company called Cure53 was hired to do the the security audit, which took place in late September and beginning of October.

A proprietary product can use libssh (as a library) without having to become open source under the LGPL. This is the main difference to the GPL. So, if you for example use libssh to write an application server, you can sell this product without any restrictions (ship it with libssh included) and you do not have to make your application open source.
