Nov 02, 2017 · I had a call from VMWare tech support and they also confirmed that Boot Camp installations using legacy Bios will no longer work with High Sierra when System Integrity Protection (SIP) is enabled (which appears to be enabled by default after the upgrade).

Workaround: Remove the existing Boot Camp virtual machine from ~/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines. Start the Boot Camp virtual machine again and install VMware Tools. A virtual machine powered on from the Boot Camp partition can fail if the Boot Camp partition uses a display connected as a USB device.

Bootcamp partitions create a vmwarevm file in another location: ~/Library/Application Support/VMWare Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/Boot Camp partition.vmwarevm You’ll be able to follow the same steps as above on the applications folder inside that file.
