Feb 18, 2010 · Greetings, I have been searching for a laptop that can support two external monitors (LCD). I have found 1 that will support this without question, (Lenovo W700), however it is a beast which is best described as a mobile desktop in terms of size and weight and much more than I need.

The W520 can handle 2 and only 2 external monitors with or without the mini-dock. To drive three or four, I recommend this device: Targus USB 3.0 dual video adapter . or if you want all the accoutrements: Toshiba USB 3.0 dual display dock . BTW: I suggest you get the new mini-dock with the USB 3.0 port.

Feb 19, 2019 · this link lists all the surface family and their external monitor limits Surface Book 2 isn't up yet, but the original Surface Book did 2 monitors at 2560 x 1600 @60 Hz so I would assume Book 2 would do that at a minimum.

Other than that, all laptops have either VGA, HDMI/Display port for external connections albeit a monitor, tv or projector. Your standard graphics cards should support pretty high resolution so unless you are doing a large TV or large monitor any laptop/dock combo should be more than fine.
