Aug 13, 2012 · Since Jetty 7 is supposed to support Servlet 2.5 and thus isn't the suspect here, the only cause can be that the web.xml is declared as Servlet 2.4 or lower instead of Servlet 2.5. So, to fix this particular problem, you need to declare your web.xml as at least Servlet 2.5.

Jan 27, 2010 · Unfortunately Jetty is missing the JSP support by default. Here is how to enable it: Download the Jetty 6 distribution. Copy the jsp-2.1 folder to the Jetty 7 lib/ folder. You can check if it works by running java -jar start.jar --list-options; Edit start.ini to include jsp-2.1 in the OPTIONS line.

Sep 15, 2009 · Tip: Enabling JSP support in Jetty.7.0.0 Jetty7, doesn't enable jsp support by default, so after one hour trying to understand what was happening, I got the reason. If you get jetty from eclipse's site, it doesn't come with the needed jsp libraries, so you have to put these libraries manually or download jetty with jsp libraries from codehaus.
