JPEG-XR is supposed to be faster, less complex than JPEG-2000, but not necessarily JPEG. webp decode performance is a mystery, and Google won't provide any real world data. In any case, the data I'm aware of on JPEG-XR, webp, and JPEG-2000 adds up to essentially zero data from a scientific standpoint.
