Oct 29, 2013 · I have Appache which is connected to Oracle, but during Joomla 3 installation I don't see Oracle as an database to choose What am I doing wrong? What else should I do to see Oracle database? And one more question If even Joomla 3 worked on Oracle, would extensions prepared for Joomla 3 work on Oracle as well?

Jan 28, 2010 · It got me thinking -- couldn't Joomla simply interface to the PEAR Database Abstraction Layer and then Joomla could work with everything from PostgreSQL to MSSQL to Oracle? I believe Joomla Version 2.0 is planning something like this through JQuery, but couldn't it be done with today's technology and the PEAR DAL?
