Sep 18, 2015 · I hate a 12ft Jon boat, I just rebuilt the transom, I can sit ontop of it and it wont wiggle or flex at all (150lbs) and I am going to put a 20hp on it (12ft jon) weighs about 100lbs. Any ideas on how I can help support it even more?

Jun 09, 2002 · After fishing for 20+ years with a jon-boat and a 14" with a 25 Evey, I bought a 165 Lowe fishing boat with a 60HP merc and got a transom saver installed. I wasn't happy because it seamed loose and swung in easily. It's the type that attaches under the trailer (Caravan) cross-piece.

Jun 05, 2015 · I replaced my old boats transom last year. I bought marine grade, expensive, but the boat was in pretty decent shape and wanted to do it right. I got a 2 part epoxy and gave it 2-3 coats. The new owner should never have an issue with it for the life of that boat.

Mar 02, 2007 · The transom used to have a lot of give on take off but I don't think there is any noticeable give in it at all now. My "Prop Guy" suggested I put a "Washer Bar" on my Blue Wave if I intended to keep the boat a long time to keep the motor mounting bolts from pressing into the transom and to help support the transom.
