    Jul 12, 2009 · Filing a feature request in Jira for XPDL on top of the PVM doen by the jBPM project is useles, it will not be supported. But filing a jira issue for support of executable BPMN2 (once that stabilises) is an option. Gathering votes on it will help getting it priotitized.

    Apr 13, 2010 · The only execution languages supported by jBPM 4.x are jPDL and BPMN 2.0 (not finished yet). If you are looking for an open source XPDL-engine then there is Bonita and jBPM 3.x also offers a BPEL-engine. However BPEL support has been dropped and the new Riftsaw project (based up-on Apache ODE) is addressing BPEL support.

    jPDL used to be the process definition language of the jBoss jBPM product until version 4 of it. Since version 5 of that product (which was a reimplementation from ground up) this product also supports BPMN as its process model and notation of choice.
