Jan 09, 2015 · “iwlist scan” returns “Interface doesn't support scanning” I have used a Git project that builds iwlist and couple of other wireless program on Android. When I try to run iwlist scan on Yellowstone, it returns which means, basically all of the interface doesn't support scanning.

I'm trying to get wireless internet, an I got my card recognised with Linuxant.(Suse 9.3 Pro) However, when I do iwlist wlan0 scan, it says "The interface doesn't support scanning." Could it have anything to do with the fact that it's a G router, wich is a recent technology?

Feb 09, 2006 · hi all I'm using a cisco aironet 350, set up using airo_cs, bcard and acu - it works fine on my network, but iwlist dies with "Interface doesn't support scanning: Operation not supported".

I have been trying to get Wi-Fi to work on Ubuntu 14.04 (I just don't and can't get ethernet) I have been trying too follow the guidline here: ubuntu 14.04 connect to a wifi network using command line but it wouldn't scan because it said "Interface doesn't support scanning".

However, after that version when the WiFi is connected and I run the command "sudo iwlist wlan0 scan" I get "wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Device or resource busy" Not sure what is the problem, but I suspect something changed with the WiFi drivers. My WiFi dongle is an ASUS N53.
