Dec 07, 2009 · iPhone BT profiles in the 3G and 3Gs with firmware 3.x include: HFP (hands free for telephone), PHAB (phone book access), A2DP (stereo music), AVRCP (remote control for stereo headset), and PAN (personal area network for tethering). iPhones don't sopport FTP - file transfer protocol via Bluetooth.

Jan 06, 2010 · I am informed by Apple UK and by Apple in the USA that the great IPhone 3GS only has bluetooth capability to pair with an Apple bluetooth headset! Not true. Apple don't even make a Bluetooth headset for starters, and the iPhone works with hundreds of third-party Bluetooth headsets, stereo headphones, car kits etc.

While it paired without any issues just like my iPhone 3GS had, the A2DP stereo bluetooth profile does not seem to be recognized. I'm currently listening to music off my iPhone using the USB connection, but hope to get the A2DP wireless bluetooth profile working with some fiddling.

iPhone 3GS Bluetooth with Windows Vista. As for the new iPhone 3GS, Windows Vista may the the culprit that prevent proper communication over bluetooth. My Vista kept asking to look for “Bluetooth Peripheral Device”?! Apparently, Vista does not have a driver to support iPhone 3GS bluetooth profiles.
