Jan 14, 2013 · IPAP is the same as Pressure support = increased ventilation = blow off more CO2. 2. EPAP is the same as PEEP/CPAP = increased FRC = increased oxygenation. So when you want to blow off CO2 you increase IPAP, and when you want to increase oxygenation you increase EPAP. Normal starting settings are IPAP 10 EPAP 4.

Aug 27, 2007 · If you look at the Minutes at Pressure (MaP) for EPAP it basically stayed there at 15 the whole night even when that OA was seen, IPAP moved up but EPAP stayed at 15 (or 14.9). So if you consider the current settings; when you first turn On the machine EPAP will be at 15 cm, IPAP will be 2 cm higher at 17 cm.

Jul 02, 2011 · In bipap 15/5 (ipap 15, epap 5) is the same as Pressure support of 10 with a PEEP of 5. So someone may say pressure support 10 and 5 and that is equivalent to bipap 15/5 There is no difference between PS and bipap in terms of how most ventilators will deliver the PEEP + Pressure support (or in NIPPV, Ipap and epap).
