Oct 26, 2009 · I am very limited as to my antenna choices right now. I have constructed a dipole, which will be mounted in an inverted V fashion. I want to get the center support as high as possible, and purchased a chimney mount for the mast (standard TV-type mast).

The Creative Science Centre - by Dr Jonathan P. Hare

Described is a simple inverted-V antenna which, when used with a balanced ATU, can be used on all the main Radio Amateur HF bands (80, 40, 20, 15 and 10m). The cental support is made in such a way that the wire can be coiled up for storage when the antenna is taken down. The basic inverted V antenna.

Inverted V Dipole for HF Ham Radio » Electronics Notes

As the name implies an inverted V dipole is a form of dipole that is in the form of a V which has been inverted. Instead of having two main supports - one for either end, both of which need to be as high as possible, the inverted V uses its main high support in the middle, having with ends having lower supports or anchorage points.

inverted "V" dipoles positioned at right angles to each other and is supported at the center by a 15-foot mast. The antenna was designed for military use from 2 to 10 MHz (some references say 2 to 30 MHz). The dual dipole wires do the job of providing guying support for the mast. Military AS-2259/GR

Inverted vee antenna - Wikipedia

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_vee_antenna
Typically, the inverted vee antenna requires only a single, tall support at the center, and the ends can be insulated and secured to anchors near ground level or near the roof if mounted on a house. This simplified arrangement has several advantages, including a shorter ground distance between the ends.

As an Inverted-L, with the radiator wire running vertically up the pole, and then bending 90 degrees, continuing horizontally? As a vertical dipole with the feedline attached to the middle and exiting the pole either horizontally or diagonally? As CENTER support for a normall dipole (e.g., Flat-Top, Inverted-V, or Off-Center-Fed)?

The 80 meter inverted vee is a common and classic antenna. Like all inverted vees, it requires a single center support, which is often times a tower which is topped with a Yagi or quad for the upper bands. Until recently, my tower supported a pair of phased 40 meter delta loops.

This is often an impor- tant advantage on the lower-frequency bands, where real estate and support height suitable for putting up a full-size dipole are at a premium. Inverted Vs usually work
