I am new to IntelliJ IDEA and I am having a hard time figuring out how to create a simple JSF project. I used eclipse so I really am not familiar on how to properly create modules in IntelliJ. I tried creating a new project > Java Module > clicked JSF and I successfully created a JSF module but it's using JSP pages instead of facelets XHTML.

Facelets support is added to the project when you add JSF support. There is a check box for it on the JSF page. So I thought it was added automatically to the war as there isn't an artifact for it.

Aug 14, 2009 · All my RichFaces, Seam tags are red once again so I went to see if Enable facelets support was enabled in the facet. It wasn't but when I enabled it, it became disabled by itself. This happens all the time now.

Seam/facelets support has been rewritten and is much more powerful in Diana (though there still is the occasional bug). That said: I am not quite sure what you mean by "facelets were not imported". Please have a look at IDE Settings -> File Types. For Idea 8 you should have your *.xhtml files assigned to Facelets file type.

Mar 23, 2008 · I too ran into trouble trying to use the trinidad taglibs. Actually for both Tomahawk and Trinidad to function correctly in IntelliJ when developing facelets I had to manually extract the .xml taglib files from the .jar's META-INF folder and put them in my webapps /WEB-INF folder.
