Mar 27, 2008 · The Intel Core Duo has 2 cores in the processor chip. The Intel Core-2 Quad has 4 such cores per processor chip. Each of these cores has its own idle state. This makes sense as one core might be idle while another is hard at work on a thread. So a core C-state is the idle state of one of those cores. A processor C-state is related to a core C-state.

Hi, I have an i5 4590T processor, I'm running Ubuntu Linux. The package c-state never goes above pc3. I've searched all over for a solution, and tried all of the suggestions I've found, but none of them work. I've set all of the Tunables in PowerTOP to good. I've enabled ASPM. It's enabled on all of the PCI devices:

Best Reply. The output suggests that it is not the problem with monitoring. According to your PCM output the processor does not go into deeper package C states. The deepest is C6 (33.07 %).
