Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT) must be enabled in the BIOS before Microsoft* Windows Server 2008 64-bit edition is installed. Microsoft* Hyper-V server role is only supported with 64-bit supported hardware and operating systems. Only then can Microsoft* Hyper-V server role be added.

Dec 01, 2009 · Hi, Please could someone clarify a hyper-v question: I have the Intel DG35EC motherboard, with the latest BIOS. My current CPU is the E7300, which does not support hyper-v. So I am thinking of just buying something that my board supports, like the E8400 for example - which does support hyper-v.

Note: A processor with Intel® Virtualization Technology doesn't guarantee that virtualization works on your system. Intel® Virtualization Technology requires a computer system with a chipset, BIOS, enabling software and/or operating system, device drivers, and applications designed for this feature.

If it lists vPro, then it will support Hardware virtualization. To see which Chip-sets support vPro, you can refer to the Chipset List on Intel’s Website. I have not been able to find a great source as to what specific chipsets support the AMD-V feature, however, most motherboards with an AM2 socket and newer will support the AMD-V technology.

Apr 10, 2017 · Hi, I'm on the same motherboard and have enabled Virtualization to use my VMs. Other than having to re-enable HPET (as AMD said to turn it off for performance) to keep lag/stutter down, I haven't had any other issues. I did migrate my VirtualBox VMs to Hyper-V as it seems to run much better.
