Yes you would be right, the 1030 is 2.4Ghz only, hardware limited, the 802.11n standard does not mandate 5Ghz support, it is optional, so alot of the "cheaper" Wireless-N adapters out there do not support 5Ghz.

Dual Band devices operate at 5 GHz, transfer speed is 1 Gbps+. Based on this we can conclude that Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 is Single Band wireless adapter, and does not support 5 GHz wireless networks.
