I'm using Windows 7 to manage my connections. I also have a 4965AGN X61s running Windows XP without Access Connections and it connects at 5GHz no problems. Of course I'm assuming that everything else is set up OK. Router set to 5GHz agn, 4965AGN set to agn, use a different SSID for the 5GHz network, WPA2 AES, etc.
