Dec 19, 2012 · I went back and looked at the Knowledge Base Article you mentioned. This is the article I consulted when installing the tools on the Windows 2008 Enterprise Server (Core) machine. I uninstalled the VMware tools and reinstalled the tools using the procedure from the Installing and Configuring VMware Tools document on page 15.
