Jun 02, 2015 · Not sure I can tell exactly what did it. In the Windows Live Mail screen in the upper left panel I found section "Quick Views" under which RSS Feeds was listed. I somehow found a way to delete it (by right clicking or left clicking) and had no issues since. I am suspicious this was added when they updated Windows Live Essentials Mail.

Mar 03, 2013 · Recently every time I open Windows Live Mail a message appears stating 'Initialisation of RSS feed support failed. RSS feeds could not be updated'. I do not use any feeds and have none set up. I have tried under Options-Feeds setting update feeds to 'Never' but this makes no difference.

Dec 03, 2010 · I switched on My Computer this morning. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3. I opened My Windows Live Mail. A pop up message appeared on screen " INITIALIZATION OF RSS FEED SUPPORT FAILED. RSS FIELDS COULD NOT BE UPDATED " This was followed by another pop up message " THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO INITIALIZE SEARCH FOLDERS "

It works great for me in managing all 450 of my RSS feeds I’m subscribed to (I recently scaled back the amount of feeds I read).
